reasonably possible, the structure and testing methodology of the National Center for State Courts (NCSC)

Court Interpreter Oral Examination. Each set is built to mirror the exam's format, timing, difficulty level, and

scoring-unit distribution, so that practicing with it feels as close as possible to sitting for the real exam.

These materials are intended for realistic practice and exam preparation only. They are not official NCSC

examinations, they are not endorsed or approved by the NCSC or by any state court system, and they are not

copies of protected NCSC examination content. Passages, dialogues, and speeches in this Vault are original

works written by 2iNTERPRET Exam Coaching to match the length, register, and scoring-unit profile that the

NCSC's published test-construction guidance describes.

2. How These Mock Exams Were Developed

Each complete mock exam — called a “Set” — is built from four components. Together, these four

components correspond to the major interpreting modes evaluated on a real court interpreter oral examination:

• Sight Translation, English → Spanish — you read a written passage and translate it aloud on sight.

• Sight Translation, Spanish → English — the same skill, reverse direction.

• Consecutive Interpretation — a bidirectional attorney/witness exchange; you listen to each utterance and

render it after the speaker pauses.

• Simultaneous Interpretation — a continuous English monologue (an attorney's argument or testimony)

that you interpret into Spanish in real time as it plays.

The length, format, difficulty, and scoring-unit distribution of every passage were designed with reference to

publicly available NCSC test-construction guidance, including the category system and category weighting

used to build real oral exam content. Every passage in this set was written to hit an exact, pre-planned scoring-

unit count and category distribution — nothing was left to chance or padded to reach a word count.
